Fightlads Wrestling Gym's (London & Manchester)
Setting up our new Fightlads Wrestling Gym in south east London is, I am afraid, taking far longer than we thought it would. Unfortunately we are in the hands of builders and developers. Both of which seem to work from a completely different diary to the one the rest of the world works from....When we say a week, they think we've said a month. Nothing is ever done on time, and it's quite frustrating.
Is it any wonder that the country is in such decline, when skilled builders can't work an 8 hour day. Yes, they turn up for 8 hours, but there seems little evidence that they actually do 8 hours work! Now, if Tea Drinking or Newspaper Reading were Olympic Sports the likes of Tom Daley and Bradley Wiggins would need to worry as our British Builders would overtake them in the medal table without breaking a sweat!
I wonder what would have happened when World of Sport were filming their shows had the likes of Rollerball Rocco insisted on a tea break after 3 rounds!!!!
Anyway, that's my rant for this Monday morning. The London Gym is way behind schedule and I have to say it WILL NOT now open on 16th February. Of that I have little doubt. I will keep everyone informed as we get nearer to the opening date. i am sorry for all those who have booked the place for the first couple of weeks (yes, we were completely booked up for the first 2 weeks!), but the wait will be well worth it....
Now, that's the not so good news. The really good news is that we are also now looking to open a state of the art Fightlads Wrestling Gym in Manchester. We are at present actively seeking the right premises. But as property in Manchester is far better priced than it is in London, and northern workers do seem to have a better work ethic, we are convinced we can have the Manchester Gym open before the London Gym! As with the London Gym we are looking to have a full size wrestling ring, matted areas, changing & shower facilities, and refreshments all available. We will also undertake coaching sessions led by former World of Sport wrestling stars and stars from the modern era. Naturally the Gym will be available for (very) private hire. (Oh, and did I mention that it will be HEATED! - we don't expect guys to undertake any physical exertion in a refrigerator!)
As things progress we'll keep you all informed. As we say, we are actively seeking a suitable premises and once we have found such the work will start with gusto....Well, as fast as the builders will go....We will require a few part time guys to man the reception area, so in the coming few weeks we'll be seeking to take on a few staff members. You don't have to be the next Kid McCoy, but a love of wrestling and a little ability would not go amiss. More importantly those interested would need to be fit (it's a wrestling Gym after all) and trustworthy.....Anyone interested can contact us at: cameroninengland@gmail.com
I believe in this current day and age I should state that not all builders are as bad as those we have encountered in London. I am certain that there are decent builders out there - we've just not managed to find any! No builders were hurt in the making of this RANT about poor working ethics!
