Wrestlers Who Could Actually Wrestle!

One of my favorite "soap box" subjects is: Can Modern Day Wrestlers Actually Wrestle? I'm afraid the answer is all too often a simple NO. Although they can do acrobatics, gymnastics, and act. The one thing many of today's so called wrestlers cannot do is "wrestle". I have sat through so many matches of late where there is hardly one wrestling hold applied that it's so obvious modern guys simply do not know the basics. Let alone are they actually capable of wrestling 20 or 30 minutes without resorting to acrobatics, gymnastics or acting! Naturally there are exceptions and wrestling training facilities operated by Robbie Brookside in Leicester and Mad Dog Maxx in the midlands do teach technical wrestling to their students. But all too often the modern guys cannot tell a headlock from a padlock! Here are a few wrestlers from the past who could not simply wrestle, but if the mood took them they'd quite easily rip your head off, or take your arms and insert them into areas of your body they were not meant to go! The likes of George Burgess, Jimmy Monroe, Jack Robinson, Count Bartelli, Clive Myers, Little Prince and Steve Casey were more than a handful. Great wrestlers all, and my privilege to have wrestled all of them on many occasions - and live to tell the tale!
