Cute UK lightweight Owen Phoenix has recently returned from a very successful trip to Japan. During the trip Owen had the opportunity to meet Jushin Leiger, who's better known to UK grapple fans as "Fuji Yamada". Yamada spend many happy months here in the uk in both 1986/87 and 1989 when he had an ongoing feud with Rollerball Rocco, which at one time culminated in him beating Rocco for his title & belt. needless to say Rocco managed to retrieve both those items before Yamada went back to Japan...

Guys who could tear you Limb from Limb

Here are a few more of the stars of years gone by who were very capable wrestlers. Stepping into the ring with any of these guys would have been curtains if you did not know how to actually wrestle. "Mighty" John Quinn took no prisoners, Kendo Nagasaki would have torn you limb from limb if you could not look after yourself. Mark "Rollerball" Rocco was another who was brought up to be able to wrestle before he ever stepped into a professional ring, as was Skull Murphy. Pat Roach was both a mast at Judo and Boxing before he became an accomplished wrestler. Once again, these were guys who knew their trade...
